As is often the case with celeb relationships — especially those involving entertainers with hot careers — work can trump the romance. That seems to be the case with the apparent collapse of the recent affair between Lady Gaga and actor Taylor Kinney.
According to a couple of sources — including one from the set of Chicago-based “Shameless” (co-starring Kinney), which Gaga visited a couple of times — it was Kinney’s super-cool demeanor that may have led to the split. I’m hearing that in the beginning, Gaga was intrigued by the fact Kinney did not go, uh, all gaga over her. Translation: He handled her superstar status very much in stride. “But after a while, I think she wanted a little more from him — a bit more adoration, if you follow me,” said a source close to the situation. “The two most important things are her career and her immediate family,” said another source. “There’s not much room for anything else, with the exception of her charity work.” Considering Lohan needs to get her anger management issues resolved, two longtime friends of the actress point out that Ronson herself has a short fuse and battled long and loudly with Lohan when they were together.
Brad Pitt ancient history, so is John ancient history [for Aniston], though only a bit less ancient history, chronologically speaking.”
† More than a few Hollywood folks are convinced the actress will beat Pitt and Angelina Jolie to the altar by marrying main man Justin Theroux.
VEDDY, VEDDY GOOD: Blimey! Anglophiles will be in seventh heaven Wednesday if they’re on hand for “The British Are Coming,” the annual fundraiser for WTTW-Channel 11 and WFMT-FM (98.7). The all-star slate at the Harris Theater features Oscar winner and noted Brit Jeremy Irons as emcee and performances by Ray Davies, the legendary frontman for the Kinks, and actor Simon Callow, who just closed his “Being Shakespeare” show at Chicago Shakespeare Theater.
