The Patriots and the Giants may have been the star attractions at Super Bowl XLVI, but Tim Tebow sure got his fair share of attention this weekend — beginning with his introduction to “Extra” mainstay Maria Menounos.

The Broncos quarterback, known for his Christian faith and squeaky-clean reputation, reportedly was quite taken with the sexy TV entertainment reporter, overheard telling a pal at Friday’s ESPN party, “Wow! She’s not only gorgeous, she’s really sweet too.” The two were seen getting very cozy at that little fete.

No word on whether anything will develop here, but Tebow and Menounos supposedly crossed paths (on purpose?) at several other Super Bowl bashes over the weekend, prior to the big game.

Speaking of Tebow, the Denver star had a lot of fun Saturday night showing Alec Baldwin how to improve on his “Tebowing” kneel at the “NFL Honors” show on NBC. Appropriately, Baldwin thanked Tebow with a “Bless you.”

Also at the “NFL Honors” show, the recently single Katy Perry gave a shoutout to Tebow, saying, “Tim, my parents said hi,” reminding everyone how the two share parents of deep religious conviction. The singer’s mother and father are pastors who likely would have preferred their daughter had married someone like Tebow — the son of missionaries — rather than that outrageous Brit Russell Brand, whom she’s now divorcing.

ROYAL RUMBLINGS: According to sources in London, there seems to be something to the stories of a renewed romance between Pippa Middleton and Lord George Percy, a former beau. Prince William’s sister-in-law who broke up last year with his friend, banker and ex-top cricket player Alex Louden — insists she and Percy are just good friends. However, those who should know insist the super-ambitious Pippa would love to snare a title similar to her sister, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.

Percy is heir to his father’s title, Duke of Northumberland — along with a fortune estimated at $500 million.

MORE ROMANCE: There is buzz that the relationship between Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough soon may lead to the “American Idol” host and reality TV kingpin proposing to the actress and former “Dancing With the Stars” regular.

NAME IT: Fans of the late, great Bernie Mac will be happy to learn the city is honoring the memory of the comic with “Bernie Mac Street,” naming the block in Englewood on West 69th Street where he grew up. A ceremony unveiling the signage — happily happening during Black History Month — begins at 10 a.m. Feb. 28.

LOCAL LIGHTS: “American Idol” fans from Chicago likely will be rooting for the contestants from our area who have made it through to “Hollywood Week” — Kelsey Montanez, Kyle “Kyle Dee” Driscoll and Robyn Christine Skinner.

In 2007, Driscoll told the Sun-Times about meeting his bandmates in the punk group Frantic at an eighth-grade birthday party: “We knew it was something special right off the bat.”

TUMMY TIME: A name long associated with traditional Italian dining has returned to the Near North Side. Joseph Tomaska, the great-grandson of the late restaurateur Papa Milano, has launched Mama Milano Pizza Bar at 1419 N. Wells. More recently, Milano’s great-grandsons Tony and Joseph Tomaska were producers of the long-running “Tony ’n’ Tina’s Wedding.”

Speaking of Italian fare, be sure to check out Filini’s at the new Radisson Blu Hotel in the acclaimed Aqua tower on Columbus Drive — where popular Chicago restaurant pro Kathy Hanley is holding forth as Filini’s bar manager.

SEEN ON THE SCENE: John Cusack had heads turning as he slipped into Cantina 46 Friday night. … Patrick Kane made the scene at Vertigo Sky Lounge late Saturday night. … Eric Benet was on hand for the private listening party Hard Rock Hotel and Capitol Records hosted at Angels & Kings for Benet’s album “The One,” due out in May. … The Bulls’ Kyle Korver, plus ex-White Soxers Joe Crede and Cliff Politte hit up Chicago Cut Steakhouse — with fans cheering Crede as he exited.
