Two major theaters have assembled formidable casts for upcoming productions.
Deanna Dunagan, who won the 2008 Tony Award for best actress for her performance in “August: Osage County,” will play Madame Arnfeldt in director William Brown’s revival of “A Little Night Music,” running May 1-July 8 at Writers’ Theatre in Glencoe. She will be joined in this classic Stephen Sondheim musical by veteran Chicago actress Shannon Cochran(who has spent years in Los Angeles), who will play her daughter, Desiree, and Jonathan Weir as Fredrik Egerman. Meanwhile, at the Goodman Theatre, where Nathan Lane and Brian Dennehy have already been announced as principal players in director Robert Falls’ revival of “The Iceman Cometh,” additional casting now includes Stephen Ouimette, Larry Neumann Jr. (now in “Mr Rickey Calls a Meeting”), Sal Inzerillo, Marc Grapey (currently starring in “Race”), John Judd, John Reeger (now in “Gypsy”), James Harms, John Hoogenakker, Patrick Andrews (recently in “Red”), John Douglas Thompson, Lee Wilkof, Tara Sissom, Lee Stark and Jennifer Engstrom.
