Chef Guy Fieri headlines the second annual Chill and Grill Festival kicking off at 11 a.m. June 9 at Waveland Park, 3580 N. Recreation. Fieri’s cooking demo will take place at 2:30 p.m. June 9. Chicago Bike to Work Week is June 11-15, and activities include free spin classes in Millennium Park (June 11-14); outdoor screening of “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure” at dusk June 12 in Millennium Park; two-hour Loop bike tour at 6:30 p.m. June 14; lecture at noon June 13 in the Claudia Cassidy Theater at the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Luna Negra Dance Theater, the renowned Latino-based company, performs June 8-10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Museum of Contemporary Art, 220 E. Chicago. In collaboration with the MCA, the company will present its new project, “Luna Nueva,” designed to showcase world premieres by Latino choreographers from around the globe including: Diana Szeinbaum of Argentina; Monica Cervantes, Luna Negra’s astonishing star dancer and rehearsal director, and Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, the troupe’s hugely talented artistic director. Celebrating its 63rd anniversary, the Old Town Art Fair (260 artisans, food vendors, live music) begins at 10 a.m. June 9 at Lincoln and Wisconsin. A new attraction this year is the Second City’s “First Sight, First Night” event, a 30-minute show featuring a special performance by Rob Riggle, and silent auction at 6 p.m. June 8 at Up Comedy Club!, 230 W. Ribfest Chicago 2012 gets under way at 5 p.m. June 8 on Lincoln Avenue between Irving Park and Berteau. More than 50,000 pounds of barbecue from 30 restaurants is expected to be sampled.
