TREY SONGZ

R&B crooner and dancer extraordinaire, Trey Songz is flinging music at fans from all angles. Just a couple of months ago, he released an EP, “Inevitable,” and now he’s hawking a new mixtape, “Anticipation 2.” Thus the name for his 18-city
Anticipation 2our, which just started. Kanye West protege Big Sean opens. At 8 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Auditorium Theater, 50 E. Congress Parkway. Tickets: $48-$78. Call (800) 745-3000; ticketmaster.com. — Thomas Conner

FRANKIE KNUCKLES
AND MORE

But wait, there’s more dance music! The Metro and its lil’ buddy Smart Bar are hosting an “all-building event” this weekend with a throbbing lineup of house and dance music. Shake it in both venues: Knuckles — still entertaining after all these groundbreaking years as Chicago’s godfather of house — headlines Metro ahead of Michael Serafini, DJ Spinn and DJ Rashad, and in Smart Bar it’s DJs Slugo, Deeon, Charlie Glitch, Rampage and Maddjazz. At 10 p.m. Feb. 10 at Metro, 3730 N. Clark. Tickets: $5 advance, $10 door. Call (800) 514-ETIX; metrochicago.com. — TC

A-TRAK

For a fabulous fleeting moment about a year ago, a dance-pop confection by Duck Sauce, titled “Barbra Streisand,” was a viral thrill online. (Now it’s in my head again. And I really don’t mind.) Duck Sauce is a DJ duo, half of which is headlining the bill of like-minded dancefloor fun this weekend at Chicago’s Mayhem party. The show features A-Trak from Duck Sauce, supported by local DJs Gun Love, Trentino and Phenom. At 10 p.m. Feb. 10 at the Mid, 306 N. Halsted. Tickets: $15-$20. Call (312) 265-3990; themidchicago.com. — TC

THE DARKNESS

Not quite a year into their reunion, British glam band the Darkness promise that an anticipated third album is coming soon. Their Spinal Tap-meets-Queen camp is back intact and on a bill with Cincinnati’s like-minded, fabulous Foxy Shazam. It’s a night of shimmering stretch pants for all. At 8 p.m. Feb. 11 at Metro, 3730 N. Clark. Tickets: $27.50. Call (800) 514-ETIX; metrochicago.com. — TC

NICK CARTER

The former Backstreet Boy is winding down his latest solo tour, promoting a second album before returning to the road with the recent supergroup NKOTBSB (New Kids on the Block with the Backstreet Boys). On Feb. 1, however, Carter’s younger sister Leslie was reported dead of unknown causes. At press time, the show was still posted, but ticketholders might double-check before boarding a train toward the Loop. At 8:30 p.m. Feb. 11 at the House of Blues, 329 N. Dearborn. Tickets: $29.50 advance, $32 day of show. Call (800) 745-3000 (for venue information, 312-923-2000); ticketmaster.com. — TC
