FIRST SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH

Cinema Minima at Cole’s Bar (2338 N. Milwaukee; cinema-minima.com ). At 8:30 p.m. Feb. 5, Independent Film Night will feature a series of shorts by local and underground film and video makers including animated films by Andy Cahill and several works by German-based filmmaker David Madry. Pre-show trivia is inspired by the kind shown before movies at the cineplex.

Logan Bar and Grill (2230 N. California; 773-252-1110; loganchicago.com). A reportedly consistently large turnout for the 8 p.m. trivia, hosted by Whaddayaknow Free Pub Trivia. Some are drawn to the monthly beer specials and $3 shots, others by the prizes. In addition to bar gift certificates of $50, $30, $20 and $10, the bar often also sweetens the pot with tickets to other local concert venues.

Spin (800 W. Belmont; spin-nightclub.com) Mercedes and Cezar host Game Show Trivia 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., with $10-$30 in prizes.

MONDAY

The Beetle Bar and Grill (2532 W. Chicago; 773-384-0701; thebeetlechicago.com ). Whaddayaknow Free Pub Trivia starts at 8 p.m., with $3 Sam Adams and $4 Stoli cocktails available. Pub trivia night starts at 8 p.m. Concert tickets and other great prizes.

Crew Bar and Grill (4804 N. Broadway; 773-784-2739; worldsgreatestbar.com). Pub Stumpers Trivia at 8 p.m. (see above).

Kirkwood Bar and Grill (2934 N. Sheffield; 773-770-0700; kirkwoodbar.com). Chicken Fried Trivia at 8 p.m. Specials include $9 3-piece fried chicken dinner and $14 Miller Lite and Coors Light buckets.

TUESDAY

Cans Bar and Canteen (1640 N. Daman; 773-227-2277; cansbar.com/chicago). Whaddayaknow Free Pub Trivia starts at 8 p.m. with Cans gift certificates ($20-$40) awarded. Sports tickets are also sometimes awarded.

WEDNESDAY

Burwood Tap, 724 W. Wrightwood;  773-525-2593; burwoodtap.com). Trivia night at

9 p.m. with $3 domestic drafts, $3 house drinks and free buffet of Caesar salad and stuffed shells with meatballs.  

Rebel Bar & Grill (3642 N. Clark; 773-975-2010; rebelchicago.com). Group trivia night at 8 p.m., with $2 burgers and $12 Miller Lite and Coors Light buckets.

THURSDAY

Bad Dog Tavern (4535 N. Lincoln; 773-334-4040; baddogtavern.com). Team trivia night starts at 8:30 p.m. and attracts an older crowd. Teams compete for gift cards and the bar also sponsers a 12-week trivia league with a $300 cash prize.

Bucktown Pub (1658 Cortland; 773-394-9898; bucktownpub.com). 8 p.m. trivia night with $3.50 Trumer Pilsner pints.

The Hidden Shamrock (2723 N. Halsted; 773-883-0304; thehiddenshamrock.com). Team trivia night at 8 p.m. with $1 domestic drafts, $3 Dos XX and New Castle drafts, $3 Heineken, Heineken Light, Amstel Light and New Castle Summer bottles, and $5 off pizza.

Moher Public House (5310 W. Devon, 773-467-1954, moherchicago.webs.com) Team Trivia of Illinois hosts an 8:30 p.m. trivia night at Moher’s.    

FRIDAY

Merkle’s ( 3516 N. Clark; 773-244-1025; merkleschicago.com) The Wrigleyville sports bar hosts a Whaddayaknow Free Pub Trivia trivia night that starts at 7 p.m., which happens to be in the middle of the bar’s happy hour (specials include $4 Jameson shots). Top team takes home a Merkle’s gift card. Runner-up wins a signature trivia night drink.
