'Christmas Carol' game set for DS

November 6, 2009

Disney Interactive Studios' "A Christmas Carol" video game -- exclusive to the Nintendo DS -- is now available at retailers. In the game, based on the Jim Carrey holiday film now in theaters, players experience narrated animated scenes inspired by the film that unfold like an interactive storybook.

Players can blow and speak into the microphone, and utilize the stylus to pull, shake, drag and tap the different environments. The English version of the Charles Dickens book is also included in the game, so that fans can read the original text while they play.

In addition, there are various holiday activities such as singing carols, decorating with holiday ornaments, and cooking recipes from the Victorian era. The game features 14 interactive mini-games that include coin tossing, playing the piano and fiddle, throwing snow balls, and a host of card games. As a bonus, the game allows up to four players to challenge each other with a variety of mini-games on one Nintendo DS system. Another plus is a real-time advent calendar with surprises that unlock every day from Dec. 1 through Dec 25.
