Rosie O’Donnell arrived in Chicago this week to settle in for her new job, hosting a talk show at Oprah Winfrey’s former studio on the Near West Side.
In a video posted Thursday at oprah.com, O’Donnell is seen being greeted with applause by Harpo Studios staff and grousing good-naturedly about the food at her welcoming party: bologna and cheese sandwiches with the crusts cut off.
“I haven’t been out,” she says. “It’s all new. It’s a little overwhelming, I have to tell you. It’s a little bit like, ‘What? I’m really actually here?’ It was a long time ago we decided to do this, so it’s kind of shocking.”
The show is expected to premiere in October on the Oprah Winfrey Network.
“I’m excited,” O’Donnell said. “I’m gonna go get myself some deep-dish pizza. Because you should. I’m pretty sure that’s on my diet.”
