That hurricane threatening the “Family Guy” gang won’t be landing this Sunday, after all.
Fox had been hyping a crossover event linking the show to episodes of “The Cleveland Show” and “American Dad,” all of them about the effects of a brutal storm. Schedule updates on Friday revealed that reruns were slotted into those time slots instead.
A Fox statement said the switch of the irreverent sitcoms came “in light of the recent storms that have affected the nation.” A series of storms Wednesday left hundreds dead in the Southeast.
Seth MacFarlane, creator of the three shows, told reporters earlier this week that the episodes were meant to pay homage to ’80s stunts that linked one night’s sitcoms with a common story line. “This idea of an outside force that sweeps its way through all three shows seemed like a cool way to accomplish that,” he said.
