‘Office’ star power fuels may finale
“Men of a Certain Age” star Ray Romano, “Doctor Who” alum Catherine Tate and “Boston Legal” vet James Spader will make appearances in the hourlong season finale of “The Office,” sources say. Airing May 19, the episode will also feature Ricky Gervais, Will Arnett and Will Ferrell.
“Modern Family” star Sofia Vergara is in discussions to join the growing cast of 20th Century Fox’s “Three Stooges.” Sean Hayes (“Will & Grace”) joined the cast earlier this week and will play Larry. Will Sasso is set to play Curly. Still up for grabs is the part of Moe. The comedy — written and directed by Peter and Bobby Farrelly — will be be divided into roughly three half-hour vignettes. Vergara is expected to play a devious woman who pretends to be the wife of a dying man.
Davis sticks with HBO
HBO is extending its relationship with “In Treatment’s” Hope Davis. The Emmy-nominated actress, who currently stars in the “Mildred Pierce” miniseries, has joined HBO’s comedy pilot “Spring/Fall,” in which she will star opposite Tea Leoni. The show is set in the fashion world and revolves around two women and their dysfunctional partnership and the way each approachs career, family and friendships. Jake Kasdan (“Californication”) will direct.
