Ashley Judd to star in ABC drama ‘Missing’

Updated: August 4, 2011 4:20PM

Ashley Judd has closed a deal to star in her first TV series.

The movie actress will topline an ABC drama called “Missing.” She’ll play a worried mom whose son disappeared in Italy while on a summer internship. As she travels to Europe to find her son, it becomes clear that she’s a former CIA agent.

Created by “National Treasure: Book of Secrets” screenwriter Greg Poirier, “Missing” had been greenlit with a 10-episode order for a summer launch, but now will most likely be set for the fall.

Judd, who guest starred in the 1990s TV series “Sisters,” appeared in “Kiss the Girls” (1997) and “Double Jeopardy” (1999).
