Bill Kurtis and Walter Jacobson on Tuesday celebrated their second anniversary back on the air at WBBM-Channel 2 — but announced they’ll be handing off the 6 p.m. newscast in February. The longtime TV news co-anchors will relinquish their duties on March 1, 2013, when Rob Johnson and Kate Sullivan, who already anchor the station’s weekday 5 and 10 p.m. newscasts, will take over. Kurtis and Jacobson previously anchored WBBM’s 10 p.m. news from 1973 to 1982.
