Oprah Winfrey knows that her fans want to see Oprah, more than anyone — or anything — else.
Her interviews often make news, and her “Season 25: Oprah Behind the Scenes” series about her talk show was a ratings-getter for the Oprah Winfrey Network.
So on Sunday, the cable channel begins a two-part original prime-time special, “Oprah Builds a Network,” offering a look at Winfrey’s first year as CEO. She promises to showcase her “innermost thoughts” about the highs and the lows she has faced in creating OWN.
On Sunday’s premiere at 8 p.m., viewers see her shoot comedy skits for a Jimmy Kimmel special and travel to Georgia for production on a new OWN series.
The July 15 episode covers her surprise visit in St. Louis with best friend Gayle King to meet the cast of “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s” and the Kardashian family interview.
