The host of “Love in the Wild” laughs when asked the wildest place she has ever made whoopee.

“I’m a traditional girl,” the South Side native says. “If there’s not a bed there you’re probably not going to get it!”

Ah, love!

McCarthy fronts the dating show’s second season, beginning Tuesday. The new location is a tropical paradise in the Dominican Republic where hearts will be smashed and trashed.

“I did go down there for four weeks,” McCarthy says. “I was staying in a place that was secure and nice because I had my son with me the entire time. I like to drag him everywhere I go. As a single mom, I need to.”

The love-seekers compete in dangerous stunts, but “I was the one who ended up on crutches!” she says. “I pulled my hamstring, so for like two episodes I had to be carried around on crutches.”

It wasn’t exactly an adventurous injury. “I pulled it while I was sleeping, so I felt like a real wuss,” she cries.

Before her hookup with Brian Urlacher, did Jenny have an island romance of her own? “I was very busy memorizing dialogue for four hours a night,” she says. “I worked 14-hour days. So, there wasn’t a lot of time for me to check out the candy at the candy store.

“Then I did make out with somebody at the wrap party, OK?”

So, what is her best dating advice? “While on this wonderful journey of dating hell, I tell my girlfriends to keep an eye on how your man treats the service industry. Your waitress. Your waiter. The valet person. You can kind of see someone bleed through if they’re snappy or rude to people trying to help you out. I take that as a big red flag, and the person usually doesn’t get a second date.”
