In addition to Jablonski’s award, Dance Chicago also announced the 2012 Dance Chicago Outstanding Choreographer Awards for excellence in choreography presented during the festival, as follows:

— Dance Crew (Boyz of Poison)

— Dance Slam (Bryant Ballet of the Chicago Multicultural Dance Center: The Bryant Ballet Youth Professional for Latin Ballet Fusion performance).

According to John Schmitz, artistic director and curator of the annual month-long Dance Chicago festival, “Since 2002, the Dance Chicago choreographer awards have been our commitment to developing excellence in Chicago choreography, recognizing dances of artistic quality and overall festival impact, and we our proud to honor Chicago’s outstanding choreography talent.”
