Actor’s injury postpones Drury Lane’s ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ opening night

Drury Lane Oak Brook Theatre has been forced to cancel the opening night of “Singin’ in the Rain” on Thursday due to an injury sustained by actor Sean Palmer, who is starring in the lead role of Don Lockwood. Palmer, who will undergo surgery for the injury to his knee, will continue with previews through Nov. 18.
Veteran Broadway actor Tony Yazbeck will take over the role starting Nov. 21. The new opening night date is set for Nov. 30.
