Angel's Vegas show is hard to 'Believe'
Seems audiences are freaking out -- and not in a good way -- at previews for "Believe," magician Criss Angel's new megaproduction at the Luxor Resort in Las Vegas.
Angel, star of the A&E series "Mindfreak" and a darling of the Hollywood set, is front and center in this $100 million collaboration with Cirque du Soleil. But the buzz is that the show, still a work in progress, is anything but spectacular.
According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, exit polls at this week's previews (the show officially opens Oct. 31) were none too kind: "Everyone in the bathroom was chanting 'bull----' from the urinals," Damon Ranger of Chicago told the paper. "It was absolutely awful. You can't 'Believe' how bad it is -- because it's terrible!"
Another theatergoer summed it up less graphically: "Dude, it's a train wreck. On a scale of 1 to 10, 'Believe' [is] a zero."
