Steppenwolf launches theater podcast series

Steppenwolf Theatre Company has launched a free, bi-weekly audio podcast at its Web site.

The 10- to 20-minute poscasts are hosted by Steppenwolf associate artistic director David New and feature interviews with actors, directors, writers and various behind-the-scenes personnel.

New podcasts are available every other Wednesday at the Web site, and also via iTunes.

Current podcasts feature interviews with Artistic Director Martha Lavey, ensemble member Tina Landau, actor Michael McKean (“Superior Donuts”) and Director of New Play Development Ed Sobel. The next installment, Aug. 27, will feature Jon Michael Hill currently co-starring in “Superior Donuts,” and the upcoming “Kafka on the Shore,” which begins previews Sept. 18.
