DePaul grad gets to be droll in dystopia

Dramas like “Revolution” need a little comic relief, and that’s where Libertyville native Zak Orth comes in.
Orth plays Aaron, a guy who made a lot of money in a field suddenly rendered obsolete.
“I used to work at a place called Google,” Aaron says in the pilot. “$80 million in the bank, and I would trade it all right now for a roll of Charmin.”
This marks the biggest TV part for the DePaul University theater major, who moved to New York after graduating in 1992. His parents still live in Libertyville, where his mom is director of music ministries at First Presbyterian Church and his father, Robert, is an opera singer.
As a Cubs fan, Orth got a kick out of the fact that original “Revolution” pilot showed Wrigley Field as home to the 2012 World Series champions. That reference was cut for the on-air version.
“I know that was a little Easter egg — I think Jon Favreau had a hand in that,” Orth said. “I don’t know why it’s gone. I appreciated it.”
