Brown wants privacy on fight details

INSIDE STORY | ABC airs Rihanna's side

November 9, 2009

If it were up to Chris Brown, you wouldn't know any details about what happened between him and Rihanna that violent night in the car.

The singer issued a statement to MTV after Rihanna appeared on ABC and described the beating she took.

"While I respect Rihanna's right to discuss the specific events of Feb. 8, I maintain my position that all of the details should remain a private matter between us," he said. "I do appreciate her support and wish her the best."

Rihanna told Diane Sawyer that they were arguing about a text Brown received from another woman when he went on the attack. "There was no person when I looked at him," she recalled. "He had no soul in his eyes. Just blank."

Her main thought, she said, as Brown bit and punched her was, "When is it going to stop? When is it going to stop?"
