Chicago Sun-Times film critic Roger Ebert won’t need surgery after all to repair a bone fracture in the hip area.
“Yes, fracture. But no surgery needed. Details to follow,” Ebert wrote Thursday in a message on his Twitter account.
Ebert felt a sharp pain in his leg earlier this week, said his wife, Chaz, and when it didn’t subside, he underwent tests. His doctors then determined that he had a fracture.
He hopes to be back at the movies, Chaz Ebert said, in a week or so.
The film critic indicated he was eager to return to work, so he can compile his list of the best films of the year.
