Morgan Spurlock has days when he wonders if he’s “mansome” enough.

“Brad Pitt has made it hard on men,” gripes the documentary director. “Brad never ages. He dresses great. He gets crazy with his hair and he can do no wrong. Then we have Johnny Depp, who dresses like a pirate and women love him.

“God forbid a regular guy out there started dressing like either of those guys, and they would be losers or just weirdos.”

The “Super Size Me” director is talking male grooming for a reason. He called the shots for “Mansome” (now at the River East), about men who obsess about their own beauty and self-improvement routines.

Q. When did men put down the hunk of Ivory soap and decide to become beauty junkies?

A. Well, men have always wanted to look their best. Some have secretly stolen their wives’ and girlfriends’ products. I call them secret manscapers. The thing with guys is they never want beauty to be seen as a priority. Then you’re not seen as a guy’s guy. However, I did just read in the Wall Street Journal that 30 percent of men have some sort of moisturizer in their medicine cabinet and 70 percent steal products from their mates.

Q. Is it enough to just smell decent and wear nice clothes?

A. Guys want to look like the most valuable man prize out there. They want to be the man that everyone sees standing on the top of a cake or on a trophy. We want to be the man prize. It’s shifted because men don’t club a wildebeest and bring home a pelt and the meat to their loved ones. We don’t work in factories and come home covered in grease. For years, that was a man. Now, we have to find another way to be that prize man for our partners.

Q.What is your personal beauty routine?

A. From the time I wake up until I leave the house, it takes me only 20 minutes. I trim my mustache and make sure hairs are not growing out of strange places. I will admit that I dated a model in my 20s. She had an arsenal of skin care products and went into work every single day and was told how fat and unattractive she was. It f---ed her up constantly. She did so much to help her skin, which is amazing to this day. She had this face cream from France that I use to this day, but it’s not $500 a bottle. It’s upwards of $40 a bottle. So, please don’t pick on me.
