I-GO collecting local tunes for 2nd 'Emissions' CD

May 29, 2008

Local musicians: Wouldn't you like to have your music in every car on Chicago roads?

Well, even Kanye hasn't done that yet, but you can vie for a spot on a CD that will be placed in each vehicle in the I-GO Car Sharing fleet.

Wilco and former Chicagoan Neko Case are already on the upcoming "Audio Emissions" disc — the second compilation of local music produced by and for the area car-sharing company. But submissions are open now through June 5 for other local musicians to fill out the CD.

Then, on June 6-14, the public will pick their favorites on the I-GO Web site, www.igocars.org.

Last year's I-GO compilation included Andrew Bird, KoKo Taylor, Devil in the Woodpile, Mucca Pazza and more.
