Pretty Good Dance Moves has pretty good tunes, too

April 10, 2008

Four Chicago artists made it to the Top 10 on FameCast (www.famecast.com), an online “artist discovery engine” that allows viewers to vote for their favorite performances — and one of them won the honors.

Pretty Good Dance Moves, an up-and-coming dance-music duo, was named FameCast’s season-four Electronic Fenom.

They’ll be featured in an advertisement in the April 19 edition of Billboard, the music-industry trade magazine. They also receive some travel bonuses on Southwest Airlines, and the choice between a critique by a record label talent scout or a gift card to Guitar Center.

Other Chicago acts hailed in this contest were G double P (on the Hip-Hop/R&B Stage), The WDB (on the Pop Stage) and Ken Garr (on the Comedy Stage). In order to make it in the Top 10, each of them beat out hundreds of other bands and artists from across the country.

Online voters determine which performers progress and will earn the grand prize of $10,000 and be crowned the next “FameCast Fenom.”
