Wilco offers free mp3 ... to voters only

September 24, 2008

Want to hear a new song from Wilco? First, you have to promise to vote this November.

The Chicago-based roots band is offering a free mp3 to fans who pledge to vote in the upcoming election.

After you click the pledge box on the band's song offer Web page, you'll receive an audio file of the band's joint cover of Bob Dylan's "I Shall Be Released" with the band Fleet Foxes, recorded Aug. 23 in Bend, Ore.

"If you can spare it, we also encourage you to consider a donation to Feeding America," the site says, linking to the charity that assists families displaced by disasters.
