Updated: December 30, 2012 3:39PM

Though summer is months away, the Ravinia Festival has released a sneak peek of its 2013 classical music schedule.

Among the highlights:

♦ Pianist Lang Lang headlines the annual gala concert, set for July 27.

♦ Verdi’s “Aida,” the festival’s 2013 “One Score, One Chicago” selection, is Aug. 3 in a concert version by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, led by Ravinia music director James Conlon.

♦ Conductor Christoph von Dohnanyi leads the CSO in two all-Beethoven programs July 11-12, with piano soloist Emanuel Ax.

♦ The CSO offers its second “Lord of the Rings” program Aug. 15-16, performing Howard Shore’s score of “The Two Towers” as the complete film is projected on video screens.

♦ The Mormon Tabernacle Choir, in its first Ravinia appearance since its sold-out 2007 debut, returns June 15. Tickets are on sale at ravinia.org.

The complete classical-music schedule will be announced in March.

Through Dec. 31, the festival is offering a Classical Grass Pass, good for 10 lawn admissions, for $70.
