Everybody’s doing it! Going Gangnam Style. Doing the Gangnam horse dance.
Last week, Psy, the South Korean rapper/singer (real name Jae-Sang Park) who created the music video that first went up on YouTube in July and now has more than 150 million views, appeared on MTV’s Video Music Awards. He also signed a record deal with Justin Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun.
Today on Good Morning America, New York’s Times Square was filled with a flash mob learning the dance. And on Friday, Psy is slated to appear on Today as part of its concert series.
The latest celeb to jump on board? Britney Spears got a lesson in how to do it on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Spears had tweeted a link to Gangnam Style, saying, “I am LOVING this video. Thinking that I should possibly learn the choreography. Anybody wanna teach me?!”
Her wish came true this week when she appeared on Ellen’s show Tuesday with X-Factor judge Simon Cowell. After playing a segment from Gangnam Style, which Cowell called “brilliant,” Ellen said to Brit Brit: “You tweeted out that you want to learn that dance, right? So I got somebody here to teach you that dance.”
Out came Psy himself!
Said Ellen, “We love you!”
