A screening of "The Placido Domingo 40th Anniversary Gala Concert" takes place at 2 p.m. Sunday at Landmark Century Centre Cinema, 2828 N. Clark. The 90-minute concert was recorded live on April 18 to celebrate Domingo's 40th anniversary of his first professional appearance with the Los Angeles Opera. A fully functioning, high-tech and green-friendly, free-standing home exhibit is underway at the Museum of Science and Industry. "Smart Home: Green + Wired," running through Jan. 4, 2009, is the home of the future, built with environmentally friendly materials and eco-systems. MAKING A DIFFERENCE More than 100,000 people are expected to raise $5.3 million to fight breast cancer at the Y-Me's 'Race to Empower' on Sunday in Grant Park near Balbo and Columbus. The Mother's Day race, which will be held in 22 cities across the country, offers a one- or three-mile walk or a 5K run.
