Expect a little bit country and a little bit rock ‘n’ roll this holiday season when “Donny and Marie — Christmas in Chicago” settles in for a three-week engagement Dec. 6-Dec. 24 at the Oriental Theatre, 24 W. Randolph.
The show, in the tradition of both the “Donny & Marie” variety show and the classic “Osmond Family Christmas” television specials, will feature musical siblings Donny and Marie Osmond singing traditional holiday songs alongside show-stopping production numbers.
It’s a homecoming of sorts for Donny who played the title role in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” for 16 months at the Chicago Theatre between 1993 and 1995.
Group tickets are currently on sale by phone at (312) 977-1710. Individual tickets will go on sale at a later date. The show is part of the Broadway in Chicago 2011-2012 subscription series.
