Canadian conductor Yannick Nezet-Seguin, 35, has withdrawn from what were to have been his debut concerts with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, citing “personal reasons.”
Juanjo Mena, 45, who will take over the BBC Philharmonic in Manchester, England, next season, will make his debut instead in the four concerts Jan. 13-16. The program, with frequent Nezet-Seguin collaborator French violinist Renaud Capucon, remains unchanged.
Nezet-Seguin recently was named music director-designate of the Philadelphia Orchestra.
