Now we know Beyonce was even more nervous than we thought about singing the national anthem at President Barack Obama’s second inauguration at the Capitol — leading her to lip-sync to a recorded track of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

The United States Marine Band spokeswoman has confirmed that while Kelly Clarkson did sing live Monday, Beyonce decided at the last minute to fake it. “All music is pre-recorded for the ceremony because there are so many eventualities and conditions,” Kristin DuBois said in a statement, adding that the band itself performed on tape — due to a lack of rehearsal time prior to Monday.

In light of this, it was strange Beyonce pulled out her earpiece in the midst of her performance. It was originally thought she was experiencing an echo-like feedback, but now sources say what she was hearing in her ear was competing with what she and the assembled throng were hearing over the Capitol’s public speaker system.

In checking with a Senate aide who was at the ceremony, I was told, “Several of us were convinced Beyonce was lip-syncing — especially because there was such a difference in her performance as compared to Kelly Clarkson and James Taylor’s songs.”

FEUD CONTINUES: After “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Brandi Glanville dissed ex-husband Eddie Cibrian’s wife — her nemesis LeAnn Rimes — Monday night on Andy Cohen’s “Watch What Happens Live” on Bravo, Rimes wasted no time in tweeting a rejoinder, read by Cohen while still on the air.

Glanville had trashed Rimes for being her ex’s financial “sugar mama” in her new book and repeated it Monday — plus talked about the singer and actress being obsessed with her. As Cohen began to ask, “Do you think she is now …,” Glanville interrupted with, “Insane? Yes, I do.”

That led to Rimes’ tweet: “Wow the texts from my friends. KISSES and KMA” — with the “KMA” clearly a directive to smooch her backside.

“These girls just can’t leave well enough alone,” said a Glanville associate Monday. “I just worry about the long-term impact this will have on Brandi and Eddie’s kids, who are constantly being forced to choose between Brandi and LeAnn.”

SPECIAL ANNIVERSARY: To mark the 40th anniversary of the landmark Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision, Planned Parenthood is hosting a big Wednesday gala at Carnivale, co-chaired by Laura Tucker and Bill Marovitz. Also being honored at the event is Illinois political legend Dawn Clark Netsch, who recently announced she is battling ALS. Among the 1,000 expected, along with Netsch, are Mayor Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod.

BIG DOLLARS FOR DOLLS: While the controversial “Django Unchained” action figures have been pulled from stores for commercializing slavery, ones already sold are being marketed on eBay and other sites for a lot of money. “Broomhilda,” based on Kerry Washington’s slave girl character in the film, is going for more than $1,000 — and sadly the full set of eight characters is offered for prices ranging from $8,000 and $15,000, reports showbiz411.com.

SEEN ON THE SCENE: New Orleans Saints running back and Chicago native Pierre Thomas was seen dining at Epic restaurant and lounge in River North. … Chicago Cubs pitcher Edwin Jackson checked out Jellyfish on Rush.
