Chicago Jazz Festival moves to Millennium Park

Chicago’s annual Jazz Festival has a new home.
The Departmetn of Cultural Affairs and Special Events announced today that the lakefront fest will move from its home in Grant Park to Millennium Park, Aug. 29-Sept. 1. Performances will also take place at the Chicago Cultural center, 78 E. Washington.
This year’s artist-in-residence will be legendary drummer Hamid Drake, who performed at the fest for first time 34 years ago — its inaugural year.
Millennium Park and the Jay Pritzker Pavilion will also host to the first night of the 30th annual Chicago Blues Festival (www.chicagobluesfestival.us), June 6, before the event moves to Grant Park for three full days of music on five stages, June 7-9.
