Nicole Westbrook ‘Thanksgiving’ song races to YouTube infamy

Updated: November 13, 2012 6:04PM

Nothing says Thanksgiving like a turkey, mashed potatoes and fun, according to young singer Nicole Westbrook.

Her music video, “It’s Thanksgiving,” has gone viral, rivaling Rebecca Black’s (in)famous valentine to “Friday” for so-bad-it’s-good popularity. As of midday Tuesday, it had more than 5 millions views, and the “dislikes” outranked the “likes” by more than 7 to 1.

In the song, Westbrook breaks into a prayer rap (“Don’t be hateful, gotta be grateful”), sings into a turkey leg and chirps, “The turkey. HEY! Mashed potatoes. HEY!”

Randomly, producer Patrice Wilson shows up in a turkey costume. Naturally, he’s also the genius behind Black’s “Friday.”
