NEW YORK — Chris Brown and Rihanna are back together, musically speaking.

Two songs featuring the former couple hit the Internet on Monday, three years after Brown violently assaulted Rihanna shortly before the Grammy Awards.

Brown is singing on the remix of Rihanna’s track “Birthday Cake,” and she’s on the remix of his upbeat tune “Turn Up the Music.”

On the Rihanna song, Brown sings lyrics with explicit sexual propositions. Among the tamer lines: “Been a long time, I’ve been missing your body. Let me turn the lights down, when I go down it’s a private party.”

Brown tweeted a link to the new version of “Turn Up the Music.” Rihanna later retweeted it. She also tweeted about the remix for “Birthday Cake.”

Brown is serving five years of probation for the 2009 felony attack. He made his return to the Grammys this year, performing twice and winning best R&B album.

Rihanna also performed at the show and picked up a trophy.

Brown tweeted birthday greetings to Rihanna, who turned 24 on Monday.
