According to sources inside the Whitney Houston camp, the focus is now on the late superstar’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, who has a number of Whitney’s closest friends and associates deeply worried.
I’ve been told the 18-year-old’s grandmother, Cissy Houston, is dismissing concerns that Whitney’s only child may be facing addiction issues similar to those of her mother and father, Bobby Brown. “Which is troubling,” said a longtime Houston friend, who mentioned Bobbi Kristina’s own brief rehab stint early last year. While the Houston spokesfolks denied reports of Bobbi Kristina getting high after her mother’s funeral, sources insist the teenager
did disappear for several hours — which upset her grandmother and other family members.
† The key goal for Cissy Houston is to keep Bobby Brown’s contact with his daughter at a minimum, as she continues to blame him for most of Whitney’s problems with drugs and alcohol.
† Interestingly, Bobbi Kristina herself is said to have true musical talent — which should come as no surprise, given her genetic lineage. Her cousin Dionne Warwick and good friends like Alicia Keys are among those encouraging Bobbi Kristina to follow in her mother’s footsteps.
† The death of Houston already has memorabilia owners scrambling to make a quick buck. One example: auctioneer Darren Julien is selling a dress, vest and jewelry Houston wore in “The Bodyguard” on March 31 — now expected to sell for much more than the prices originally listed.
MOVING ON: Though Robert Pattinson joked about now being “too old” to play Edward Cullen in any future sequel to the “Twilight” franchise, a longtime associate of the actor says he’s “done with vampires. … He appreciates what ‘Twilight’ did for his career, but now wants new challenges.”
DON’T DO IT! Kobe Bryant is working hard to win back estranged wife Vanessa, but I’ve been told virtually all her close friends are telling her to ignore his pleas — advising “once a cheater, always a a cheater.”
