Finding parking in the Loop
There’s got to be cheaper parking around here, somewhere. Let the Sun-Times help you find it. This Sun-Times database lets you search for parking, map it and compare prices for garages and parking lots downtown. A better price may be closer than you think.
This information was gathered by visiting parking garages and lots between Harrison on the south, Grand on the north, Columbus on the east, and Des Plaines on the west. Prices were obtained from signs posted at the facilities, from attendants on duty, and, where possible, from calling the facility. The list is not comprehensive. If a facility could not be entered, no information or incomplete information was gathered.
Categories are left blank when there was no price given, or when no attendant was present to provide a price. For example, a monthly price may be missing because the lot doesn't offer monthly parking, or because an attendant was not available to ask.
Note: Garage and parking lot owners who want to provide additional information can e-mail the Sun-Times.
"Daily" means at least 12 hours. "One hour" means the cost to park for one hour, even if the garage charges the same to park for one hour as to park for two. If a facility doesn't specify "24 hours," that category is not listed.
"Early bird" can mean entry times before 7 a.m. or before 10 a.m., depending on the facility. "Evening hours" can mean after 2 p.m. or after 6 p.m., depending on the facility.
If there is more than one monthly rate, we have provided the lower one. Some facilities provide different monthly rates, with higher rates for a reserved space.
*Manager said the price for daily parking was negotiable.
**This facility has two "early bird" rates -- we have provided the later one.
