"This . . . is Grand" /(THISSS iz grand)/ Phrase. The most pleasant and uplifting of all automated announcements for L riders, even if that owes mostly to its double meaning. Instead of hearing the announcement to mean, "We are now at the Grand Avenue subway stop," think: "This is wonderful."
