The Point /thuh point/ n. Hyde Park's Promontory Point, the scenic and now controversial peninsula that juts into Lake Michigan at 55th Street. The Prairie School landscape architecture was done by Alfred Caldwell. A proposal to repair the shoreline -- and replace limestone with concrete -- infuriated locals.
