Cottonelle rolls outappealing ad for T.P.

Updated: September 24, 2012 6:25AM

We all take toilet paper for granted. So how do you make it something to get excited about in a TV commercial? Well, Tris3ct/Chicago has found a way in a new TV spot called “One Little Switch” for Cottonelle Ultra toilet paper.

First the agency hired an actress with tons of presence and then gave her a script that does a smart job of making toilet paper sound as if it’s an important part of our lives. Which it really is, when you stop to think about it.

In any event, this very perky and personable housewife talks about how life usually becomes routine when a couple has been married for a long time. But this woman decided to make one little change in things by introducing Cottonelle. And it seems to have worked. Her revitalized hubby appears at the bedroom door dressed up and ready for a night on the town.

In the midst of all of this, our housewife even manages to comment on the thickness of Cottonelle and mention a competitor by name without diminishing the spot’s energy and impact.
