From defense attorney Edward Genson:

• "David Radler will come into this courtroom and lie."

• "This is not a story of a theft by Conrad Black. This is a story of a theft from him."

From prosecutor Jeffrey Cramer:

• "They're not here because they received $60 million. They're here because they stole $60 million and they lied to cover it up." The total alleged theft is about $84 million.

Today: Opening statements from defense lawyers for Mark Kipnis and John Boultbee. Testimony from former Sun-Times Media Group CEO Gordon Paris.
