Job vacancies advertised online jump by nearly 3% in October

On-line job vacancies in October jumped by 2.65 percent from September, with 40 out of 50 states posting gains in their demands for jobs, the Conference Board reported Monday.

The increase marked the seventh straight month in which the numbers of job vacancies advertised online rose.

The October number of online job vacancies showed a whopping 33.5 percent increase from October 2009, according to the Conference Board report.

For the month-to-month increase, the Midwest saw the second-largest gain, behind the West, with increases in demand for nurses, physical therapists, web developers, computer software engineers and computer systems analysts.
