Mag Mile Borders to close Jan. 7
Shoppers determined to find bargains will have their final chance this holiday to hunt for books, music and e-readers at Borders bookstore at 830 N. Michigan Ave., because the store closes Jan. 7.
Last year, Borders Group extended the lease of the Mag Mile bookstore until January 2011, and a Borders spokeswoman confirmed Thursday there will be no further reprieve. The store employs 84 full- and part-time workers.
“The last day of sales will be Jan. 7,” said Borders Group spokeswoman Mary Davis.
