Little to no growth in 2010 starting salaries, survey says

Starting salaries are expected to remain pretty much flat in accounting and finance, information technology and administrative fields, according to Robert Half International's 2010 salary guides.

Average starting salaries in accounting and finance are expected to increase by 0.5 percent next year; in information technology by 1.3 percent, and in administrative and office support by 2.2 percent.

Among jobs the staffing firm says show steady or increasing average salaries, with pay ranges:

• Tax accountant: $46,500 to $61,500.

• Compliance director: $83,750 to $108,500.

• Credit manager/supervisor: $42,500 to $57,500.

• Senior financial analyst: $57,750 to $74,000.

• Network administrator: $54,500 to $80,250.

• Information systems security manager: $96,500 to $130,750.

• Systems engineer: $64,250 to $93,250.

• Medical records clerk: $23,750 to $31,500.

• Customer service representative: $22,750 to $30,750.

• Executive assistant: $35,000 to $47,000.
