River Oaks Sears closing

Sears will close its store at the River Oaks Mall in Calumet City — one of the mall’s original stores from 47 years ago — in early June in what the retailer called a “business decision.”
The store’s 164 employees, mostly hourly and part-time workers, may apply for open positions elsewhere at Sears and Kmart, and those eligible will receive severance, said Sears spokesman Chris Brathwaite.
