M&A specialist Harris joins Jenner & Block

The Chicago law firm Jenner & Block announced that Mark A. Harris, a specialist in mergers and acquisitions, has joined the firm as a partner.
Harris started with Jenner & Block’s corporate practice Nov. 16. He previously was a partner at McDermott Will & Emery.
Harris has helmed several major transactions, including Wrapports LLC’s acquisition of the Sun-Times at the end of 2011.
The hiring is expected to build Jenner & Block’s corporate and transactional practice. The firm has been known for its litigation practice.
Harris brings a client list that includes Wrapports, Merge Healthcare, Winona Capital and Heritage-Crystal Clean. Harris declined to specify what deals he’s currently working on, saying only that he hopes to close several before the end of the year. Sun-Times Media
