Civic Committee calls state’s pension problems ‘unfixable’

Illinois’ $83 billion unfunded pension burden is so crushing, it has reached a point now where the problem can’t be fully repaired by state lawmakers and Gov. Pat Quinn, a leading business group wrote Wednesday in an open letter to its members.
