Start-up’s move here to create 100 jobs

Gov. Pat Quinn says a biotech start-up company called Durata Therapeutics is moving from New Jersey to Chicago.
In a statement Wednesday, Quinn says Durata plans to locate its global headquarters at 200 S. Wacker Drive and create up to 100 jobs in the next three years.
The governor says the life sciences sector is a high-growth industry and an important part of the global marketplace. And he says the biopharmaceutical company’s decision to move shows that Illinois is playing a key role.
Durata Therapeutics CEO Paul Edick says his company is familiar with Illinois’ “deep talent pool” and is looking forward to recruiting many experienced employees.
Durata Therapeutics was founded in Morristown, N.J. It went public in July.
