Marielle Lifshitz is the new general counsel for Wrapports LLC

Marielle V. Lifshitz has been named general counsel of Wrapports LLC, owner of Sun-Times Media, the company announced Thursday.
Lifshitz has served as internal legal counsel at Sun-Times Media since 2006 and interim general counsel for Wrapports since April.
“Marielle played an integral role in Wrapports’ recent acquisitions and investments,” said Timothy P. Knight, CEO of Wrapports. “Her legal expertise combined with her strong business acumen make Marielle a perfect fit during this exciting growth period for Wrapports.”
Lifshitz previously was assistant general counsel at Sun-Times Media starting in 2006. Prior to joining Sun-Times Media, Lifshitz was a partner in the corporate department at Chicago law firm Gardner Carton & Douglas LLP (now Drinker Biddle LLP), where she specialized in mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, corporate finance and securities law. Lifshitz is a graduate of Université d’Aix-Marseille, France, and received her law degree from University of Chicago Law School.

Wrapports, a technology-driven media holding company, owns Sun-Times Media, publisher of the Chicago Sun-Times and more than 40 other media properties, and the Chicago Reader, an alternative weekly.
