Volkswagen considers a stake in Navistar

Volkswagen is vying for a stake in U.S. truckmaker Navistar International, the Financial Times Deutschland reported on Sunday.
The paper reported that Volkswagen, which also recently announced its plans to virtually double its production in China, is looking to expand to the U.S. market through Navistar. The Times reports Volkswagen hopes to better compete with Daimler Trucks, the world’s largest commercial vehicle maker and owner of the U.S. truck brand Freightliner.
