H&M adds kids’ clothing section on State Street

A children’s clothing department for newborns to 14-year-olds is opening Thursday at Hennes & Mauritz’s H&M Loop store at 22 N. State St., the Swedish company announced Wednesday.

The addition is part of a makeover and 5,000-square-foot expansion of the eight-year-old trendy fashion store.

H&M will unveil the new look and children’s department at an event at 9 a.m. Thursday in which it will offer giveaways and discount passes.

H&M’s store on Michigan Avenue already carries children’s clothes.

The company operates 2,500 H&M stores in 44 markets worldwide.
